Covid 19 Requirements Taking Class

Because of the limited amount of people we can have on the floor and in the building at a given time, we are limited to 5 couples at a time during the time when class starts and ends. This is why we are taking reservations only! You must be committed to reservations and enrollment before you visit our studio. If you show up to class without reservations you may be turned down! Payment by check or cash only can be made at the door. Please do not mail your check to US.

For reservations or other information about taking dance classes please contact us by phone call at (636) 926-2680. If you get an answering machine leave a message with your name & phone number. We will contact you A.S.A.P.

a.) Students that show up with reservations and finish their session course get first choice when they re-enroll in the next session course.

b.) Students that sign up with reservations retain their cost moving into the next session course.

Before you enter the building/facility make sure you bring your own Mask and hand sanitizer. You will Not be permitted to share hand sanitizer or your mask with others!

You may be checked for your temperature before you enter the interior of/to the dance floor. This is usually done at the front desk after checking in. For a typical adult, body temperature can be anywhere from 97 F to 99 F. You will not be permitted to enter the dance floor if your temperature is above 99 F!

While moving on the dance floor with your partner, especially in the smooth dances, all student couples will be required to keep a social distance of 5 to 6 feet away from other student couples. Couples will be required to keep their distance from other couples. For more information about this, the teacher(s) will explain the details and what students can do to avoid others while moving on the dance floor keeping their social distance from others.

Canceling a reservation: If you cancel after making a reservation provided we cannot make another booking/reservation in your place. This will send you to the back of our reservation list the next time you try to book or make reservations in another class!

If you manage to make a booking for a class in the near future you may retain your reservation status, not the cost. This only works if there is an available slot, in the near future, on the days classes start.

Dardenne Prairie Hall Cancellations, Emergencies & Closings

This policy covers a wide range of policies students might not be aware of. It is important for everyone taking classes to look at the contents here in this section so you can better prepare yourself or develop a better understanding of DPH & Star Dancer policies which can make your experience smoother while taking classes.

Below are the sections that we believe to be important to our students.

Cancellation of A Class

There are several defined ways of how classes can be canceled. Such as, classes can be canceled for bad weather. Classes could be canceled because a teachers parent had passed away, or a student might need to cancel his/her class program because it no longer fits in their time schedule with their work or job.

(To TOC)

Cancellation of A Class Due to Low Enrollment

In most cases we require a minimum number of students for a class to run. Each minimum varies per class.

If we have to cancel a class due to low enrollment, we will notify you at least two days before the class is scheduled to begin. If we cancel your class/session, you will receive a full refund.

Refunds are done in the same manner in which payment was made. If your payment was made by credit card, the refund will be promptly credited directly to your credit card account.

If the payment was made by cash or check, a refund check will be issued to the individual named on the original check/receipt or for a cash payment. Refunds issued are received by the customer within 30 days.

24 Hour Notice

Star Dancer, the Teachers & Instructors are usually given 24 Hour Notice when classes are canceled due to low enrollment. This is so we can post cancellations on our website within 6 Hours Notice. www.stardancer.net/blog.html

However, we may get an early cancellation notice before Friday, for the Sunday weekend and Monday, of the starting session of dance classes. This is because our office is Closed after 4:00 p.m. on Fridays and Closed on Saturdays & Sundays.

This is important to know especially if you are enrolled in a class on Sunday and/or Monday.

Replacing A Cancelled Class to Another

If you enrolled in a class that was canceled due to low enrollment, it is possible to try another class or try the same original class chosen on a different day. For beginners we usually have two to three other beginner classes that are available during the week. Check the schedule to see if we have extra classes available.

Check out the schedule flyer of our dance classes and see what we have available. Call us of your changes. We will try to accommodate you and help you fix all of your changes, including your prior enrollment moved to a different class.

To contact us call Registration at 636-926-2680.

Intermediate & Advance dancers can also do the same. Try to find another class that fits your needs. If you find another class you would like to try, call the registration office and tell us of your changes and we will try to enroll you in that different class or the same class if available.

A Classes Schedule that Changes

Sometimes, a class schedule may change when another class on the same day has been canceled and all other non canceled classes are moved up, from their scheduled order to an early time slot of the canceled class.

Usually, A class schedule change does not happen to later time slots, on the same day, but to early time slots on the same day, if there is a canceled class.

All class schedule changes are within the discretion of the teacher (s) and/or Dardenne Prairie Dance Hall (DPH). For more information about this check with your teacher.

All students enrolled in their original scheduled time slots will be notified, called individually and told about any schedule changes. A text announcement of the schedule changes will also be posted on Star Dancers Home Site Blog and/or our Calendar Site.

Canceled Class Due to An Emergency

There are several different types of Emergencies for reasons to cancel a class or classes. The following is a few examples of what could happen and what will be done if classes are canceled if an emergency were to come up, happen and/or to occur.

All canceled classes due to an emergency, are to be made up the week after the dance class originally should end. However, it is possible that the make up of a class could be rescheduled to another date and time.

Students will be notified of date & time changes and/or the rescheduled class to be made up.

An Emergency could be due to an instructors emergency situation, such as, a death in the family or a personal injury that happened before classes start.

If you go to a class where there is no instructor to teach the lesson, check to see if there is a sign posted on the entrance door or the front desk for a cancellation inside the class room studio. The sign is usually a back up in case some students show up to class and did not get a message or could not be contacted.

In certain instances an attempt to call or contact students will be made before their class and/or classes start, if possible.

Emergency Closings by the Federal & Local Government

Students will be notified that classes have been canceled until further notice. Students will also be contacted when they can resume their class and be notified about their schedule changes, dates & times for their make up class and/or classes and when classes are to start back up again.

All notifications will be made before students next class and/or classes start.

Notifications may be made by phone, email, text messages, our facebook page, our twitter page, our blog, our calendar page or by announcements in class.

(To TOC)

Epidemics, Pandemics, CDC Related Emergencies, Bio Warfare

Guidelines & emergencies are based on the CDC, the Federal & Local Governments. Check your local & world news, If this applies to you! For more information go to the CDC, your local Government and/or Federal Governments websites.

Activities, events and their closings due to such emergencies and happening could be canceled and/or could be “until further notice.”

Notifications may be made by phone, email, text messages, our facebook page, our twitter page, our blog, our calendar page or by announcements in class, if classes are permitted. This may also pertain to other dance activities & their schedules provided and our dances and/or future dance functions.

Starting Back Up!

Starting back up for classes, dances, events and other activities may require you to do what was not done in the past and was not the norm, such as social distancing, wearing face masks, washing & cleaning hands, wearing proper gear that was not required in the past.

Business hours may change, sanitation of the building may be required and corrections of how students will be able to move on and/or off the floor.

Restrictions may be imposed on the amount of participants that can enter the establishment at a given time schedule. For situations like this we will impose Registration Restrictions and the amount of students that can participate on the floor at a given time. Which means you will have to have registrations or bookings at least two weeks prior/ahead of time before you can enter the building/facility! (No Exceptions!)

When everything goes back to normal these policies and restrictions may change and end as time goes on!
